| Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. | Hoffe auf den HERRN und tu Gutes, bleibe im Lande und nähre dich redlich. | (36:3) beth spera in Domino et fac bonum peregrinare in terra et pascere fide |
| Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. | Habe deine Lust am HERRN; der wird dir geben, was dein Herz wünscht. | (36:4) et delectare in Domino et dabit tibi petitiones cordis tui |

| Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. | und wird deine Gerechtigkeit heraufführen wie das Licht und dein Recht wie den Mittag. | (36:6) et educet sicut lumen iustitiam tuam et iudicium tuum sicut meridiem |
| Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. | Sei stille dem HERRN und warte auf ihn. Entrüste dich nicht über den, dem es gut geht, der seinen Mutwillen treibt. | (36:7) deleth tace Domino et expecta eum noli contendere adversum eum qui proficit in via sua adversum virum qui facit quae cogitat |
| For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. | Steh ab vom Zorn und laß den Grimm, entrüste dich nicht, damit du nicht Unrecht tust. | (36:8) he dimitte iram et relinque furorem noli contendere ut malefacias |
| For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. | Denn die Bösen werden ausgerottet; die aber des HERRN harren, werden das Land erben. | (36:9) quoniam qui malefaciunt interibunt expectantes autem Dominum ipsi hereditabunt terram |
| But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. | Noch eine kleine Zeit, so ist der Gottlose nicht mehr da; und wenn du nach seiner Stätte siehst, ist er weg. | (36:10) vav adhuc enim modicum et non erit impius et cogitabis de loco eius et non subsistet |
| The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. | Aber die Elenden werden das Land erben und ihre Freude haben an großem Frieden. | (36:11) mites autem hereditabunt terram et delectabuntur in multitudine pacis |
| The LORD shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming. | Der Gottlose droht dem Gerechten und knirscht mit seinen Zähnen wider ihn. | (36:12) zai cogitat impius de iusto et frendet adversum eum dentibus suis |
| The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation. | Aber der Herr lacht seiner; denn er sieht, daß sein Tag kommt. | (36:13) Dominus deridebit eum videns quod venit dies eius |
| Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken. | Die Gottlosen ziehen das Schwert und spannen ihren Bogen, daß sie fällen den Elenden und Armen und morden die Frommen. | (36:14) heth gladium evaginaverunt impii tetenderunt arcum suum ut percutiant egenum et pauperem et interficiant rectos in via |
| A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. | Aber ihr Schwert wird in ihr eigenes Herz dringen, und ihr Bogen wird zerbrechen. | (36:15) gladius eorum ingrediatur in cor eorum et arcus eorum confringantur |
| For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous. | Das Wenige, das ein Gerechter hat, ist besser als der Überfluß vieler Gottloser. | (36:16) teth melius est parum iusto quam divitiae impiorum multae |
| The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. | Denn der Gottlosen Arm wird zerbrechen, aber der HERR erhält die Gerechten. | (36:17) quia brachia impiorum confringentur sublevat autem iustos Dominus |
| They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. | Der HERR kennt die Tage der Frommen, und ihr Gut wird ewiglich bleiben. | (36:18) ioth novit Dominus diem inmaculatorum et hereditas eorum aeterna erit |
| But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away. | Sie werden nicht zuschanden in böser Zeit, und in der Hungersnot werden sie genug haben. | (36:19) non confundentur in tempore malo et in diebus famis saturabuntur |
| The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth. | Denn die Gottlosen werden umkommen; und die Feinde des HERRN, wenn sie auch sind wie prächtige Auen, werden sie doch vergehen, wie der Rauch vergeht. | (36:20) caph quia impii peribunt et inimici Domini gloriantes ut monocerotes consumentur sicut fumus consumitur |
| For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off. | Der Gottlose muß borgen und bezahlt nicht, aber der Gerechte ist barmherzig und kann geben. | (36:21) lameth fenus accipit impius et non reddit iustus autem donat et tribuit |
| The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. | Denn die Gesegneten des HERRN erben das Land; aber die er verflucht, werden ausgerottet. | (36:22) quia qui benedicti fuerint ab eo hereditabunt terram et qui maledicti interibunt |
| Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. | Von dem HERRN kommt es, wenn eines Mannes Schritte fest werden, und er hat Gefallen an seinem Wege. | (36:23) mem a Domino gressus viri firmantur et viam eius volet |
| I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. | Fällt er, so stürzt er doch nicht; denn der HERR hält ihn fest an der Hand. | (36:24) cum ceciderit non adlidetur quia Dominus sustentat manum eius |
| He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. | Ich bin jung gewesen und alt geworden und habe noch nie den Gerechten verlassen gesehen und seine Kinder um Brot betteln. | (36:25) nun puer fui siquidem senui et non vidi iustum derelictum neque semen eius quaerens panem |
| Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. | Er ist allezeit barmherzig und leiht gerne, und sein Geschlecht wird zum Segen sein. | (36:26) tota die donat et commodat et semen eius in benedictione |
| For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. | Laß ab vom Bösen und tu Gutes, so bleibst du wohnen immerdar. | (36:27) samech recede a malo et fac bonum et habita in sempiterno |
| The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever. | Denn der HERR hat das Recht lieb und verläßt seine Heiligen nicht. Ewiglich werden sie bewahrt, aber das Geschlecht der Gottlosen wird ausgerottet. | (36:28) quia Dominus diligit iudicium et non derelinquet sanctos suos ain in aeternum custoditi sunt et semen impiorum periit |
| The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment. | Die Gerechten werden das Land ererben und darin wohnen allezeit. | (36:29) iusti hereditabunt terram et habitabunt in saeculum super eam |
| The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide. | Der Mund des Gerechten redet Weisheit, und seine Zunge lehrt das Recht. | (36:30) fe os iusti meditabitur sapientiam et lingua eius loquetur iudicium |
| The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him. | Das Gesetz seines Gottes ist in seinem Herzen; seine Tritte gleiten nicht. | (36:31) lex Dei eius in corde eius non deficient gressus eius |
| The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged. | Der Gottlose lauert dem Gerechten auf und gedenkt, ihn zu töten. | (36:32) sade considerat impius iustum et quaerit ut occidat eum |
| Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it. | Aber der HERR läßt ihn nicht in seinen Händen und läßt ihn vor Gericht nicht zum Schuldigen werden. | (36:33) Dominus non derelinquet eum in manu eius et non condemnabit eum cum iudicatur |
| I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree. | Harre auf den HERRN und halte dich auf seinem Weg, so wird er dich erhöhen, daß du das Land erbest; du wirst es sehen, daß die Gottlosen ausgerottet werden. | (36:34) coph expecta Dominum et custodi viam eius et exaltabit te ut possideas terram cum interibunt impii videbis |
| Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found. | Ich sah einen Gottlosen, der pochte auf Gewalt und machte sich breit und grünte wie eine Zeder. | (36:35) res vidi impium robustum et fortissimum sicut indigenam virentem |
| Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace. | Dann kam ich wieder vorbei; siehe, da war er dahin. Ich fragte nach ihm; doch ward er nirgends gefunden. | (36:36) et transivi et ecce non erat et quaesivi eum et non est inventus |
| But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off. | Bleibe fromm und halte dich recht; denn einem solchen wird es zuletzt gut gehen. | (36:37) sen custodi simplicitatem et vide rectum quia erit ad extremum viro pax |
| But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble. | Die Übertreter aber werden miteinander vertilgt, und die Gottlosen werden zuletzt ausgerottet. | (36:38) iniqui autem delebuntur pariter et novissimum impiorum peribit |
| And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him. | Aber der HERR hilft den Gerechten, er ist ihre Stärke in der Not. | (36:39) thau salus iustorum a Domino fortitudo eorum in tempore tribulationis |
| Und der HERR wird ihnen beistehen und sie erretten; er wird sie von den Gottlosen erretten und ihnen helfen; denn sie trauen auf ihn. | (36:40) et auxiliabitur eis Dominus et salvabit eos ab impiis quia speraverunt in eo |
