| O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. | Schmecket und sehet, wie freundlich der HERR ist. Wohl dem, der auf ihn trauet! | (33:9) gustate et videte quoniam bonus Dominus beatus vir qui sperat in eo |
| The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. | Fürchtet den HERRN, ihr seine Heiligen! Denn die ihn fürchten, haben keinen Mangel. | (33:10) timete Dominum sancti eius quoniam non est inopia timentibus eum |
| Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD. | Reiche müssen darben und hungern; aber die den HERRN suchen, haben keinen Mangel an irgendeinem Gut. | (33:11) leones indiguerunt et esurierunt quaerentibus autem Dominum non deerit omne bonum |
| What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? | Kommt her, ihr Kinder, höret mir zu! Ich will euch die Furcht des HERRN lehren. | (33:12) venite filii audite me timorem Domini docebo vos |
| Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. | Wer möchte gern gut leben und schöne Tage sehen? | (33:13) quis est vir qui velit vitam diligens dies videre bonos |
| Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. | Behüte deine Zunge vor Bösem und deine Lippen, daß sie nicht Trug reden. | (33:14) custodi linguam tuam a malo et labia tua ne loquantur dolum |
| The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. | Laß ab vom Bösen und tu Gutes; suche Frieden und jage ihm nach! | (33:15) recede a malo et fac bonum quaere pacem et persequere eam |
| The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. | Die Augen des HERRN merken auf die Gerechten und seine Ohren auf ihr Schreien. | (33:16) oculi Domini ad iustos et aures eius ad clamorem eorum |
| The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. | Das Angesicht des HERRN steht wider alle, die Böses tun, daß er ihren Namen ausrotte von der Erde. | (33:17) vultus Domini super facientes malum ut perdat de terra memoriam eorum |
| The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. | Wenn die Gerechten schreien, so hört der HERR und errettet sie aus all ihrer Not. | (33:18) clamaverunt et Dominus exaudivit et ex omnibus tribulationibus eorum liberavit eos |
| Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. | Der HERR ist nahe denen, die zerbrochenen Herzens sind, und hilft denen, die ein zerschlagenes Gemüt haben. | (33:19) iuxta est Dominus contritis corde et confractos spiritu salvabit |
| He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken. | Der Gerechte muß viel erleiden, aber aus alledem hilft ihm der HERR. | (33:20) multae tribulationes iusti et ex omnibus illis liberabit eum Dominus |
| Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. | Er bewahrt ihm alle seine Gebeine, daß nicht eines zerbrochen wird. | (33:21) custodit omnia ossa eius unum ex eis non confringetur |
| The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. | Den Gottlosen wird das Unglück töten, und die den Gerechten hassen, fallen in Schuld. | (33:22) interficiet impium malitia et odientes iustum superabuntur |
| Der HERR erlöst das Leben seiner Knechte, und alle, die auf ihn trauen, werden frei von Schuld. | (33:23) redimet Dominus animam servorum suorum et non peccabunt omnes sperantes in eo |
