| And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. | die er aus den Ländern zusammengebracht hat von Osten und Westen, von Norden und Süden. | (106:2) dicant qui redempti sunt a Domino quos redemit de manu hostis et de terris congregavit eos |
| They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in. | Die irre gingen in der Wüste, auf ungebahntem Wege, und fanden keine Stadt, in der sie wohnen konnten, | (106:3) ab oriente et ab occidente ab aquilone et mari |
| Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. | die hungrig und durstig waren und deren Seele verschmachtete, | (106:4) erraverunt in solitudine in deserta via civitatem quae habitaretur non reppererunt |
| Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses. | die dann zum HERRN riefen in ihrer Not, und er errettete sie aus ihren Ängsten | (106:5) esurientes et sitientes anima eorum in ipsis deficiebat |
| And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation. | und führte sie den richtigen Weg, daß sie kamen zur Stadt, in der sie wohnen konnten: | (106:6) et clamaverunt ad Dominum in tribulatione sua de adflictione eorum eripuit eos |
| Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! | die sollen dem HERRN danken für seine Güte und für seine Wunder, die er an den Menschenkindern tut, | (106:7) et duxit illos per viam rectam ut venirent in civitatem habitabilem |
| For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness. | daß er sättigt die durstige Seele und die Hungrigen füllt mit Gutem. | (106:8) confiteantur Domino misericordiam eius et mirabilia eius in filios hominum |
| Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron; | Die da sitzen mußten in Finsternis und Dunkel, gefangen in Zwang und Eisen, | (106:9) quia saturavit animam vacuam et animam esurientem implevit bonis |
| Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High: | weil sie Gottes Geboten ungehorsam waren und den Ratschluß des Höchsten verachtet hatten, | (106:10) habitantes in tenebris et umbra mortis alligatos inopia et ferro |
| Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help. | so daß er ihr Herz durch Unglück beugte und sie dalagen und ihnen niemand half, | (106:11) quia provocaverunt sermones Dei et consilium Excelsi blasphemaverunt |
| Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses. | die dann zum HERRN riefen in ihrer Not, und er half ihnen aus ihren Ängsten | (106:12) et humiliavit in labore cor eorum ceciderunt et non erat qui adiuvaret |
| He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder. | und führte sie aus Finsternis und Dunkel und zerriß ihre Bande: | (106:13) et clamaverunt ad Dominum in tribulatione sua et de angustiis eorum salvavit eos |
| Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! | die sollen dem HERRN danken für seine Güte und für seine Wunder, die er an den Menschenkindern tut, | (106:14) et eduxit eos de tenebris et umbra mortis et vincula eorum disrupit |
| For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder. | daß er zerbricht eherne Türen und zerschlägt eiserne Riegel. | (106:15) confiteantur Domino misericordiam eius et mirabilia eius in filios hominum |
| Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. | Die Toren, die geplagt waren um ihrer Übertretung und um ihrer Sünde willen, | (106:16) quia contrivit portas aereas et vectes ferreos confregit |
| Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death. | daß ihnen ekelte vor aller Speise und sie todkrank wurden, | (106:17) stultos propter viam sceleris eorum et propter iniquitates adflictos |
| Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. | die dann zum HERRN riefen in ihrer Not, und er half ihnen aus ihren Ängsten, | (106:18) omnem cibum abominata est anima eorum et accesserunt ad portas mortis |
| He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. | er sandte sein Wort und machte sie gesund und errettete sie, daß sie nicht starben: | (106:19) et clamaverunt ad Dominum in tribulatione sua de angustiis eorum salvavit eos |
| Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! | die sollen dem HERRN danken für seine Güte und für seine Wunder, die er an den Menschenkindern tut, | (106:20) misit verbum suum et sanavit eos et salvavit de interitu |
| And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing. | und sollen Dank opfern und seine Werke erzählen mit Freuden. | (106:21) confiteantur Domino misericordiam eius et mirabilia eius in filios hominum |
| They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; | Die mit Schiffen auf dem Meere fuhren und trieben ihren Handel auf großen Wassern, | (106:22) et immolent hostias gratiarum et narrent opera eius in laude |
| These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep. | die des HERRN Werke erfahren haben und seine Wunder auf dem Meer, | (106:23) qui descendunt in mare navibus facientes opus in aquis multis |
| For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof. | wenn er sprach und einen Sturmwind erregte, der die Wellen erhob, | (106:24) ipsi viderunt opera Domini et mirabilia eius in profundo |
| They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble. | und sie gen Himmel fuhren und in den Abgrund sanken, daß ihre Seele vor Angst verzagte, | (106:25) dixit et surrexit ventus tempestatis et elevavit gurgites eius |
| They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end. | daß sie taumelten und wankten wie ein Trunkener und wußten keinen Rat mehr, | (106:26) ascendunt in caelum et descendunt in abyssos anima eorum in adflictione consumitur |
| Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. | die dann zum HERRN schrien in ihrer Not, und er führte sie aus ihren Ängsten | (106:27) obstipuerunt et intremuerunt quasi ebrius et universa sapientia eorum absorta est |
| He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. | und stillte das Ungewitter, daß die Wellen sich legten | (106:28) clamabunt autem ad Dominum in tribulatione sua et de angustia educet eos |
| Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven. | und sie froh wurden, daß es still geworden war und er sie zum erwünschten Lande brachte: | (106:29) statuet turbinem in tranquillitatem et silebunt fluctus eius |
| Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! | die sollen dem HERRN danken für seine Güte und für seine Wunder, die er an den Menschenkindern tut, | (106:30) laetabuntur quoniam quieverunt et deducet eos ad portum quem voluerunt |
| Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders. | und ihn in der Gemeinde preisen und bei den Alten rühmen. | (106:31) confiteantur Domino misericordiam eius et mirabilia eius in filios hominum |
| He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground; | Er machte Bäche trocken und ließ Wasserquellen versiegen, | (106:32) et exaltent eum in ecclesia populi et in cathedra seniorum laudent eum |
| A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein. | daß fruchtbares Land zur Salzwüste wurde wegen der Bosheit derer, die dort wohnten. | (106:33) ponet flumina in desertum et fontes aquarum in sitim |
| He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings. | Er machte das Trockene wieder wasserreich und gab dem dürren Lande Wasserquellen | (106:34) terram fructiferam in salsuginem prae malitia habitatorum eius |
| And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation; | und ließ die Hungrigen dort bleiben, daß sie eine Stadt bauten, in der sie wohnen konnten, | (106:35) ponet desertum in paludes aquarum et terram inviam in fontes aquarum |
| And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase. | und Äcker besäten und Weinberge pflanzten, die jährlich Früchte trugen. | (106:36) et conlocabit ibi esurientes et fundabunt urbem ad habitandum |
| He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease. | Und er segnete sie, daß sie sich sehr mehrten, und gab ihnen viel Vieh. | (106:37) et serent agros et plantabunt vineas et facient fruges genimina |
| Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow. | Aber sie wurden gering an Zahl und geschwächt von der Last des Unglücks und des Kummers. | (106:38) et benedicet eis et multiplicabuntur nimis et pecora eorum non inminuet |
| He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way. | Er schüttete Verachtung aus auf die Fürsten und ließ sie irren in der Wüste, wo kein Weg ist; | (106:39) inminuta sunt autem et adflicta propter angustiam mali et doloris |
| Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock. | aber die Armen schützte er vor Elend und mehrte ihr Geschlecht wie eine Herde. | (106:40) et effundet despectionem super principes et errare eos faciet in solitudine devia |
| The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth. | Das werden die Frommen sehen und sich freuen, und aller Bosheit wird das Maul gestopft werden. | (106:41) et sublevabit pauperem de inopia et ponet quasi gregem familias |
| Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD. | Wer ist weise und behält dies? Der wird merken, wieviel Wohltaten der HERR erweist. | (106:42) videbunt recti et laetabuntur et omnis iniquitas contrahet os suum |
