| Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times. | Wohl denen, die das Gebot halten und tun immerdar recht! | (105:2) quis loquetur fortitudines Domini auditas faciet omnes laudes eius |
| Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation; | HERR, gedenke meiner nach der Gnade, die du deinem Volk verheißen hast; erweise an uns deine Hilfe, | (105:3) beati qui custodiunt iudicium et faciunt iustitiam in omni tempore |
| That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance. | daß wir sehen das Heil deiner Auserwählten und uns freuen, daß es deinem Volke so gut geht, und uns rühmen mit denen, die dein eigen sind. | (105:4) recordare mei Domine in repropitiatione populi tui visita me in salutari tuo |
| We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly. | Wir haben gesündigt samt unsern Vätern, wir haben unrecht getan und sind gottlos gewesen. | (105:5) ut videam bona electorum tuorum et laeter in laetitia gentis tuae et exultem cum hereditate tua |
| Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea. | Unsre Väter in Ägypten wollten deine Wunder nicht verstehen. Sie gedachten nicht an deine große Güte und waren ungehorsam am Meer, am Schilfmeer. | (105:6) peccavimus cum patribus nostris inique fecimus impie egimus |
| Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known. | Er aber half ihnen um seines Namens willen, daß er seine Macht beweise. | (105:7) patres nostri in Aegypto non intellexerunt mirabilia tua non sunt recordati multitudinis misericordiae tuae et ad iracundiam provocaverunt super mare in mari Rubro |
| He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness. | Er schalt das Schilfmeer, da wurde es trocken, und führte sie durch die Tiefen wie durch trockenes Land | (105:8) salvavit autem eos propter nomen suum ut ostenderet fortitudinem suam |
| And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. | und half ihnen aus der Hand dessen, der sie haßte, und erlöste sie von der Hand des Feindes. | (105:9) et comminatus est mari Rubro et aruit et transduxit eos per abyssos quasi in deserto |
| And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left. | Und die Wasser ersäuften ihre Widersacher, daß nicht einer übrigblieb. | (105:10) et salvavit eos de manu odientis et redemit eos de manu inimici |
| Then believed they his words; they sang his praise. | Da glaubten sie an seine Worte und sangen sein Lob. | (105:11) et operuit aqua hostes eorum unus de ipsis non superfuit |
| They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel: | Aber sie vergaßen bald seine Werke, sie warteten nicht auf seinen Rat. | (105:12) et crediderunt verbis eius cecineruntque laudem eius |
| But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert. | Und sie wurden lüstern in der Wüste und versuchten Gott in der Einöde. | (105:13) cito obliti sunt operum illius nec expectaverunt voluntatem eius |
| And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul. | Er aber gab ihnen, was sie erbaten, und sandte ihnen genug, bis ihnen davor ekelte. | (105:14) et desideraverunt desiderium in deserto et temptaverunt Deum in solitudine |
| They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD. | Und sie empörten sich wider Mose im Lager, wider Aaron, den Heiligen des HERRN. | (105:15) dedit ergo eis petitionem eorum et misit tenuitatem in animam eorum |
| The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram. | Die Erde tat sich auf und verschlang Dathan und deckte zu die Rotte Abirams, | (105:16) et zelati sunt Mosen in castris Aaron sanctum Domini |
| And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked. | und Feuer wurde unter ihrer Rotte angezündet, die Flamme verbrannte die Gottlosen. | (105:17) aperta est terra et devoravit Dathan et operuit synagogam Abiram |
| They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image. | Sie machten ein Kalb am Horeb und beteten das gegossene Bild an | (105:18) et succensus est ignis in synagoga eorum flamma exusit impios |
| Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass. | und verwandelten die Herrlichkeit ihres Gottes in das Bild eines Ochsen, der Gras frißt. | (105:19) fecerunt vitulum in Horeb et adoraverunt conflatile |
| They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt; | Sie vergaßen Gott, ihren Heiland, der so große Dinge in Ägypten getan hatte, | (105:20) et mutaverunt gloriam suam in similitudine bovis comedentis faenum |
| Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea. | Wunder im Lande Hams und schreckliche Taten am Schilfmeer. | (105:21) obliti sunt Dei salvatoris sui qui fecit magnalia in Aegypto |
| Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them. | Und er gedachte, sie zu vertilgen, wäre nicht Mose gewesen, sein Auserwählter; der trat vor ihm in die Bresche, seinen Grimm abzuwenden, daß er sie nicht verderbe. | (105:22) mirabilia in terra Ham terribilia super mare Rubrum |
| Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word: | Und sie achteten das köstliche Land gering; sie glaubten seinem Worte nicht | (105:23) dixit ergo ut contereret eos nisi Moses electus eius stetisset medius contra faciem illius ut converteret indignationem eius et non interficeret |
| But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD. | und murrten in ihren Zelten; sie gehorchten der Stimme des HERRN nicht. | (105:24) et dispexerunt terram desiderabilem nec crediderunt sermoni eius |
| Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness: | Da erhob er seine Hand wider sie, daß er sie niederschlüge in der Wüste | (105:25) et murmuraverunt in tabernaculis suis non audierunt vocem Domini |
| To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands. | und würfe ihre Nachkommen unter die Heiden und zerstreute sie in die Länder. | (105:26) et levavit manum suam super eos ut deiceret eos in deserto |
| They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead. | Und sie hängten sich an den Baal-Peor und aßen von den Opfern für die Toten | (105:27) et ut deiceret semen eorum in gentibus et dispergeret eos in terris |
| Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them. | und erzürnten den Herrn mit ihrem Tun. Da brach die Plage herein über sie. | (105:28) et consecrati sunt Beelphegor et comederunt victimas mortuorum |
| Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed. | Da trat Pinhas hinzu und vollzog das Gericht; da wurde der Plage gewehrt; | (105:29) et concitaverunt eum in studiis suis et percussit eos plaga |
| And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore. | das wurde ihm gerechnet zur Gerechtigkeit von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht ewiglich. | (105:30) stetit autem Finees et deiudicavit et est retenta percussio |
| They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes: | Und sie erzürnten den Herrn am Haderwasser, und Mose ging es übel um ihretwillen; | (105:31) et reputatum est ei in iustitia in generatione et generatione usque in aeternum |
| Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips. | denn sie erbitterten sein Herz, daß ihm unbedachte Worte entfuhren. | (105:32) et provocaverunt super aquam Contradictionis et adflictus est Moses propter eos |
| They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them: | Auch vertilgten sie die Völker nicht, wie ihnen der HERR doch geboten hatte, | (105:33) quia provocaverunt spiritum eius et praecepit labiis suis |
| But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works. | sondern sie ließen sich ein mit den Heiden und lernten ihre Werke | (105:34) non exterminaverunt populos quos dixit Dominus eis |
| And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them. | und dienten ihren Götzen; die wurden ihnen zum Fallstrick. | (105:35) et commixti sunt gentibus et didicerunt opera eorum |
| Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils, | Und sie opferten ihre Söhne und ihre Töchter den bösen Geistern | (105:36) et servierunt sculptilibus eorum et factum est eis in scandalum |
| And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood. | und vergossen unschuldig Blut, das Blut ihrer Söhne und Töchter, die sie opferten den Götzen Kanaans, so daß das Land mit Blutschuld befleckt war. | (105:37) et immolaverunt filios suos et filias suas daemonibus |
| Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions. | Sie machten sich unrein mit ihren Werken und wurden abtrünnig durch ihr Tun. | (105:38) et effuderunt sanguinem innocentem sanguinem filiorum suorum et filiarum suarum quos immolaverunt sculptilibus Chanaan et polluta est terra sanguinibus |
| Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance. | Da entbrannte der Zorn des HERRN über sein Volk, und sein Erbe wurde ihm zum Abscheu. | (105:39) et coinquinati sunt in operibus suis et fornicati sunt in studiis suis |
| And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them. | Er gab sie in die Hand der Heiden, daß über sie herrschten, die ihnen gram waren. | (105:40) iratus est itaque furor Domini in populum suum et abominatus est hereditatem suam |
| Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand. | Und ihre Feinde ängsteten sie, und sie wurden gedemütigt unter ihre Hand. | (105:41) et dedit eos in manu gentium et dominati sunt eorum qui oderant eos |
| Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity. | Er rettete sie oftmals; aber sie erzürnten ihn mit ihrem Vorhaben und schwanden dahin um ihrer Missetat willen. | (105:42) et adflixerunt eos inimici sui et humiliati sunt sub manu eorum |
| Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry: | Da sah er ihre Not an, als er ihre Klage hörte, | (105:43) multis vicibus liberavit eos ipsi vero provocabant in consiliis suis et humiliati sunt propter iniquitates suas |
| And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies. | und gedachte an seinen Bund mit ihnen, und es reute ihn nach seiner großen Güte. | (105:44) et vidit tribulationem eorum cum audiret eos rogantes |
| He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives. | Und er ließ sie Barmherzigkeit finden bei allen, die sie gefangen hielten. | (105:45) et recordatus est pacti sui cum eis et paenituit eum secundum multitudinem misericordiae suae |
| Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise. | Hilf uns, HERR, unser Gott, und bring uns zusammen aus den Heiden, daß wir preisen deinen heiligen Namen und uns rühmen, daß wir dich loben können! | (105:46) et dedit eos miserabiles coram omnibus qui ceperant eos |
| Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD. | Gelobt sei der HERR, der Gott Israels, von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit, und alles Volk spreche: Amen! Halleluja! | (105:47) salva nos Domine Deus noster et congrega nos de gentibus ut confiteamur nomini sancto tuo et canamus laudantes te |
