| Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; | der dir alle deine Sünde vergibt und heilet alle deine Gebrechen, | (102:3) qui propitiatur cunctis iniquitatibus tuis et sanat omnes infirmitates tuas |
| Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. | der dein Leben vom Verderben erlöst, der dich krönet mit Gnade und Barmherzigkeit, | (102:4) qui redimit de corruptione vitam tuam et coronat te misericordia et miserationibus |
| The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed. | der deinen Mund fröhlich macht, und du wieder jung wirst wie ein Adler. | (102:5) qui replet bonis ornamentum tuum innovabitur sicut aquilae iuventus tua |
| He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. | Der HERR schafft Gerechtigkeit und Recht allen, die Unrecht leiden. | (102:6) faciens iustitias Dominus et iudicia cunctis qui calumniam sustinent |
| The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. | Er hat seine Wege Mose wissen lassen, die Kinder Israel sein Tun. | (102:7) notas fecit vias suas Mosi filiis Israhel cogitationes suas |
| He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. | Barmherzig und gnädig ist der HERR, geduldig und von großer Güte. | (102:8) misericors et clemens Dominus patiens et multae miserationis |
| He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. | Er wird nicht für immer hadern noch ewig zornig bleiben. | (102:9) non in sempiternum iudicabit neque in aeternum irascetur |
| For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. | Er handelt nicht mit uns nach unsern Sünden und vergilt uns nicht nach unsrer Missetat. | (102:10) non secundum peccata nostra fecit nobis neque secundum iniquitates nostras retribuit nobis |
| As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. | Denn so hoch der Himmel über der Erde ist, läßt er seine Gnade walten über denen, die ihn fürchten. | (102:11) quantum enim excelsius est caelum terra tantum confortata est misericordia eius super timentes eum |
| Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. | So fern der Morgen ist vom Abend, läßt er unsre Übertretungen von uns sein. | (102:12) quantum longe est oriens ab occidente tantum longe fecit a nobis scelera nostra |
| For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. | Wie sich ein Vater über Kinder erbarmt, so erbarmt sich der HERR über die, die ihn fürchten. | (102:13) sicut miseretur pater filiorum misertus est Dominus timentibus se |
| As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. | Denn er weiß, was für ein Gebilde wir sind; er gedenkt daran, daß wir Staub sind. | (102:14) ipse enim novit plasmationem nostram recordatus est quia pulvis sumus |
| For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more. | Ein Mensch ist in seinem Leben wie Gras, er blüht wie eine Blume auf dem Felde; | (102:15) homo quasi herba dies eius sicut flos agri sic florebit |
| But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children; | wenn der Wind darüber geht, so ist sie nimmer da, und ihre Stätte kennet sie nicht mehr. | (102:16) quia spiritus pertransiit eum et non subsistet et non cognoscet eum ultra locus eius |
| To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them. | Die Gnade aber des HERRN währt von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit über denen, die ihn fürchten, und seine Gerechtigkeit auf Kindeskind | (102:17) misericordia autem Domini ab aeterno et usque in aeternum super timentes eum et iustitia eius in filios filiorum |
| The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all. | bei denen, die seinen Bund halten und gedenken an seine Gebote, daß sie danach tun. | (102:18) his qui custodiunt pactum eius et recordantur praeceptorum eius ad facienda ea |
| Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. | Der HERR hat seinen Thron im Himmel errichtet, und sein Reich herrscht über alles. | (102:19) Dominus in caelo stabilivit thronum suum et regnum illius omnium dominatur |
| Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure. | Lobet den HERRN, ihr seine Engel, ihr starken Helden, die ihr seinen Befehl ausrichtet, daß man höre auf die Stimme seines Wortes! | (102:20) benedicite Domino angeli eius fortes robore facientes verbum eius oboedientes voci sermonis eius |
