| Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. | Kehret euch zu meiner Zurechtweisung! | They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. | meinen Rat nicht wollten und all meine Zurechtweisung verschmähten, | nec adquieverint consilio meo et detraxerint universae correptioni meae |
| Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. | darum sollen sie essen von den Früchten ihres Wandels und satt werden an ihren Ratschlägen. | comedent igitur fructus viae suae suisque consiliis saturabuntur |
| For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. | Denn den Unverständigen bringt ihre Abkehr den Tod, und die Toren bringt ihre Sorglosigkeit um; | aversio parvulorum interficiet eos et prosperitas stultorum perdet illos |
| But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil. | wer aber mir gehorcht, wird sicher wohnen und ohne Sorge sein und kein Unglück fürchten. | qui autem me audierit absque terrore requiescet et abundantia perfruetur malorum timore sublato |
